Julia Clegg
I trained as a painter and wood engraver, and my first prints were wood engravings.
I subsequently trained in machine embroidery and made fabric pictures
and paper collages, at the same time developing my drawing skills.
A friend introduced me to etching, which I enjoyed exploring and resulted in a number of editions, before I finally settled on my preferred medium of screen printing.
My work encompasses a range of subject matter and approaches. Subjects range from the industrial heritage, through real / imaginary landscapes to the human figure. My work features in private and public collections.
