Annie Fforde
I enjoy exploring different methods of mark and image making and experimenting with various printmaking techniques. I am interested in viscosity printing using different coloured inks on a single plate. I combine dry point, etching and woodcuts with monotype, masking and reprinting to obtain rich hues.
My images are inspired by the changing colours of the landscape and sea and by music and poetry. As a member of 'Artworks' in Halifax, I have been using the letterpress to print poems and illustrate the text with etchings and collegraphs. I am using monotype and dry point for the present "Wave" series, exploring the elemental power of the sea with reference to the sublime.
I have returned to England after many years living and working in Catalonia where I was running a print centre in Céret.
I have recently moved into studio 4 in South Square Centre Thornton. I lead regular workshops sharing my printmaking skills with all ages and abilities. These can be booked on Eventbrite.
