Susan is an printmaker from Halifax, West Yorkshire. Her roots lie in the varied landscapes of West Yorkshire and this has influenced her exploration of drawing and mark making. She has actively developed her printmaking skills around ideas developed from objects found in the landscape. By experimenting with a wide variety of printmaking techniques, Susan incorporates different mark making techniques onto a variety of papers and other supports. The resulting map like imagery is derived directly from the found objects themselves.
The two and three dimensional works are fictitious, yet suggest something which is familiar, creating opportunities for visual stories about new imaginary places within evolving landscapes.
